Glenn Gould diskutiert seinen Stuhl:

Interviewer: „What an odd instrument you’ve got there?“

Glenn Gould: „I think it has a rather nice tone actually.“

I.: „I’m talking about this, this, – eh – this thing – of which I do not know how to call it.“

G.: „You will not speak disrespectfully of a member of the family?!“

I.: „What do you mean ‘a member of the family’?“

G.: „It is a boon travelling companion – without which I do not function – I can not operate – it is with me for 21 years – this ‘thing’! – otherwise known as a ‘chair’!“

I.: „You’ve actually given concerts on this?“

G.: „I’ve never given – any concert on anything else (…) for 21 years.“

I.: „Do you actually mean it’s been as close a companion to you as Bach has been in your musical career?“

G.: „Oh, much closer actually.“
