Unangetastet wie die Jungfernschaft einer Nonne ist der Briefkopf des VfL-Bochum: Wo bei anderen Vereinen mit Meisterschaften und Pokalen geprotzt wird, steht in Bochum nichts. Die Zeiten sind vorbei. Der VfL hat seinen ersten Titel geholt: Worst Goal Songs in Professional German Football.
Die Seite Bundesligafanatic kürte Bochum Torstück „We’re Not Gonna Take It!“ von den Donots zum schlechtesten Torstück aller Vereine im deutschen Profifußball. Der Text passt einfach nicht, so die Begründung:
You’re not gonna take what? The goal you just scored?
This is a classic arena-rocker, but generally used as a call to arms in the face of adversity, rather than for celebration of an accomplishment.
Whether this is a matter of misunderstanding the lyrics or ignoring the fully understood lyrics, it’s bad utilization. I do love the music, though I prefer the Twisted Sister original, but this is ultimately a failure so complete, I’m forced to name it THE WORST! The only people who should ever have been singing this after an awarded goal would be Bayer Leverkusen after the Phantomtor in Hoffenheim. Otherwise, it’s more like, “Hell yes, we’re gonna take it and would like some more, while we’re at it!”
Glad Bochum used music from a band with roots in the area, but maybe dig a bit deeper in their catalog next time.
